José Miranda Justo, b. 1951. PhD, University of Lisbon, 1990. Associate Professor at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon. Member of the Research Centre for Philosophy at the University of Lisbon (CFUL), where he is main researcher in a project concerning the philosophy of Søren Kierkegaard. Research areas: Philosophy of Language, Esthetics and Philosophy of Art, Hermeneutics, Literary Theory, Translation Studies. Author of several studies in the abovementioned research areas. Among other authors he translated Wilhelm von Humboldt, Schleiermacher, Kierkegaard, Wagner, Nietzsche, Marx, Rancière and Deleuze.
