Olivier Mathieu
Université de Montréal
I have recently successfully defended my doctoral dissertation, Créativité artistique; une approche phénoménologique, at the philosophy department of McGill University. For the last five years, I have been teaching philosophy of art and aesthetics of literature for the department of philosophy at Université de Montréal. From 2008 to 2011, I have created and organised the Montreal Reflections on Art and Aesthetics Workshop (MRAAW), a series of conferences by regional and international figures from various academic fields. I am currently working on identifying the role and impacts of subjectivity in the determination of historical normative frameworks such as the artworld.
